Be%20Amazing%20Pic.jpgThe Bauerometer lands on 2.5 stars for Chambers Eat + Drink, the new poolside restaurant adjoining the Phoenix Hotel. He thinks the design of the dining room is "cool," the service is "friendly and unpretentious," but chef Trevor Ogden's menu takes some missteps. "The inherent weakness of much of the food showns up on the hamburger ($13)." It's "impossible to pick up," although "the flavor of the meat was superb." But when "presentations and ingredients are more restrained, good things happen," as in the Kobe tri tip, corn chowder and "a very good chicken liver pate with a quail egg." Desserts "were better than expected," and the evening ends "on a high note." [Chron]
