Pigeons.jpgLast Thursday, a Department of Health inspector shuttered Taqueria Vallarta's 24th Street location due to a pigeon nest found in the rafters. Owner Juan Rosas Lopez says they're now closed to make renovations: "...fixing the walls, the bars, the counters...doing something nice." Pending hearing results, they should be back open in a few days, but that doesn't explain how the pigeons got in there in the first place. Quoth the DPH spokeswoman "Very unusual occurrence, even for San Francisco." [SF Appeal]
