REVAMPS - Inside Scoop reports Berkeley’s Skates on the Bay has gotten with the (sustainable) times by bringing on former Waterfront chef Greg Lutes. He's revamping the menu with more local catch, as management embarks on an interior redo "with the hope of matching the gorgeous views." It should all be wrapped up by December. [ISSF]
RUMORMONGERING - According to @CaseysPizza, the good men of the Le Truc bustaurant are working on a beer truck, or should we say brewtruc, complete with wine on tap. [Twitter]

POP-UPS - Since moving to Chicago earlier this year, Soul Cocina's Roger Feely is back in town for a short while. He'll be hosting a one-night-only pop up at La Victoria Bakery in the Mission on Oct. 6: a six-course meal available in vegan- or carnivore-friendly versions. Reserve via Eventbrite. [The Feast]
LAWSUITS - The news of the day from the East Coast is that Mario Batali partner Joe Bastianich has had it with opening restaurants in New York. Blaming "frivolous" lawsuits over "frivolous" things like unpaid overtime and illegal tip-sharing, he says “We opened three other restaurants, in California and Connecticut, worth 1,000 jobs that could have been here in New York. Someone in Albany needs to understand the agenda, what this is really costing the greatest restaurant city in the world." [New York Post via Eater National]
