Grand Prix's Union Square Future and Plans for Palo Alto

When the Grand Prix kiosk opened in the entrance hall at Azul earlier this year, people were really excited to have Blue Bottle Coffee this close to Union Square. Then when Eater posted about the Southern restaurant Hops & Hominy that would be taking over Azul off Union Square, many of you expressed concern about the fate of Grand Prix. Owner Kirk Harper responds on the matter: "Hops & Hominy is scheduled to open in late 2011 and our plan is to set up a more fixed kiosk. We may keep the name Grand Prix or simply serve Blue Bottle coffee under H&H, this is yet to be determined."

Now Palo Alto people, this one's for you. Weber is also currently consulting on a project called Ground Up, a new retail cafe serving Blue Bottle Coffee on the new AOL campus at 395 Page Mill Rd. He says "the goal is to make it the best place to get your Blue Bottle Coffee south of the city." The cafe will be owned and operated by Stanford Student Enterprises. It should be open around the end of October.
