Reed & Greenough Dress Code Backlash, Wine & Spirits Top 100 Party, and More

KHAKI WIRE - New Marina bar Reed & Greenough has a very fancy decor indeed. So fancy, in fact, that they've imposed a rather unprecedented dress code, and have already been known to kick out several people for wearing flip-flops, t-shirts, baseball hats or sneakers. YumSugar weighs the pros and cons: essentially those who are happy the drunkards are kept out vs. those who think it's ridiculous. [YumSugar, Facebook]

COMING ATTRACTIONS - Annual who's who of the local wine world Wine & Spirits magazine's Top 100 Tasting event is coming up on Oct. 12. This is the 8th annual edition of the event, and if it's anything like last year's, it'll be a shit show in the best way possible. [EaterWire]

POP-UPS - Reform Club is coming back to Specchio restaurant in the Mission on Oct 16th. The performers this time around are former Orson chef Jay Roberts and Eric Ehler of the new Seoul Patch pop-up. NAPA - Drama in Wine Country. It seems consultants Matthew and Bryan Bousquet, last seen revamping Mirepoix into Mamma Pigs, have unceremoniously removed themselves from operations, and Matthew has snuck off to become the executive chef at Bistro Jeanty (!). Now Mamma Pigs is trying to get back on track with the original creative consultant, Gary Finnan, as the sole owner. It sounds like there will be a media blitz and a relaunch of some sort when they get it together. [Bite Club Eats]

FLEET WEEK - Alameda's Rock Wall Wine Company is hosting it's "Food Truck Frenzy" party next Saturday in conjunction with Fleet Week. The tasting room is basically a 40,000 square foot hangar with great views, and—in this instance—food trucks, tarot card readings, caricature drawings, DJs and a dance troop. So...wine tasting + country fair + pseudo air raid. You dig? [EaterWire]
