Claudine Puts Signage up in Union Square, Dear Mom Delays, and More!

UNION SQUARE - Cafe Claude and Gitane owner Franck LeClerck is almost ready to essentially take over Claude Lane with Claudine, his third restaurant on the street. As you can see here, signage is very much up. When it opens on November 1, you'll experience a 31-seat space with a raw bar and a Euro-style cafe menu, sporting crispy pork salad, baked calamari and the like. [EaterWire]

STOW LAKE - Meanwhile in Golden Gate Park, the former owners of the Stow Lake boathouse left a pile of horse shit for the Ortega family, who took over operations earlier this month. According to the Examiner, they also left some mementos in the kitchen: "a Bible, a stuffed crow and a picture that one friend described as 'the love child of Tina Fey and Mike Myers.'"
