Just steps away, competition brews as SoCal favorite The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has staked claim to 155 Montgomery St. And now, Coffee Bar owner Luigi Di Ruocco writes in with key details about his arsenal. Though his new outpost won't be as large as the original, it will have two La Marzocco Strada espresso machines, a single-origin, made-to-order "slow bar," and speedy drip coffee. Thickening the plot, a FiDi witness paints the full competitive picture, revealing it's not just Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in the war zone: "With Peet’s across the street towards Pine and Starbucks across Montgomery at Sutter this is going to caffeine corners.
