Back in December, there was a little bit of pre-opening chef drama at aspiring Mission seafood restaurant Lot 7 (974 Valencia Street). Now owner Hani Desouky
has gone down the street to find his new hire, signing on Johnny Jantz, formerly of DIY restaurant Grub, as executive chef. still has a couple candidates he's considering, and he hopes to have his new chef "locked down by the end of the week." He'll open the restaurant soon thereafter. As promised, the menu will offer "lots of fish and vegetables," a niche Desouky sees as unfilled on the Valencia corridor. [EaterWire]
