Green Papaya Thai Vegetarian restaurant (2016 Shattuck) says it's closing due to a "low volume of vegan/vegetarian consumers" in Berkeley, which is funny because isn't Berkeley like the veggie burger capital of the world or something? Anyway, a sign in the window says they'll reopen as a "non-vegan restaurant," though they'll still offer select vegetarian items. As alwyas, there are some musings on Yelp about the "real" reason for closure. [EaterWire]
