Take a look: brunch champion Dottie's True Blue is back. All set to open tomorrow at 7:30 a.m., the new much larger 6th Street location in the former Pasion Cafe has double the seating compared to the Tenderloin original and a beast of a patio up top. Owner Kurt Abney hasn't done much to the original building, which boasts original brick walls circa 1910. What he did do is paint, add some new light fixtures, and bring in a lot of character in the form of wall hangings and furniture from the original. As you can see the early Hollywood era theme has survived.
Faithfuls will be happy to know the same menu will be offered, along with the usual daily specials and house-made pastries. Hours for now are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and until 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. They are closed on Tuesdays. The new location has a full-on wine list (three whites, three reds, a few sparklings), soju mixed cocktails, and beer on tap coming soon. Other new things to look out for include an expanded lunch menu, green smoothies and milkshakes in the coming year.
