Redd Wood Fires Up the Pizza Oven in Napa

Richard Reddington more than doubles his Yountville real estate this evening with the grand opening of his brand new wood-fired, pizza-centric restaurant Redd Wood. Reddington, who has already earned repeated Michelin stars for his restaurant Redd down the way, takes a more causal tack here. The menu's pizza options are rounded out with rustic pasta dishes, seasonal sides, and house-cured meats from a dedicated charcuterie room. Take a look at a sample menu right here. For pairing purposes, there's a local wine list curated by master sommelier William Sherer.

In a land where restaurant decors can be rather predictable, Reddington has enlisted respected home designer Erin Martin for her first restaurant project to date. Mismatched chairs, an eccentric "room within a room" bar area, and hand-written quotes scrawled around on the walls mark an interior Reddington sums up with one word: "irreverent." Note they've also expanded outdoor seating within the umbrella Hotel Luca's walls to 20. Starting Thursday, Redd Wood will be open for dinner nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Lunch will be added on Feb. 6, at which point hours will extend from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
