About Sarah Kirnon's New Project: Miss Ollie's

Not a week after news broke that chef and Barbados native Sarah Kirnon moved on from Hibiscus, Chron brings some details to light about her next project, Miss Ollie's. Named after her dearly departed grandmother, the full-service restaurant will be located somewhere in downtown Oakland. The concept will be based on the Caribbean "one-stop" model: each day of the week is devoted to one menu item. For example, Monday could be fried chicken, Tuesday could be oxtails, and so on. When the day's dish runs out, the restaurant closes for the day.

Kirnon is keeping the location and the other chefs involved in the project under wraps for now, but there are rumors that Raidus' Christian Baker might be crossing the bridge to help out. Those hungry for Kirnon's fare in the meantime, should check out her Beer Week pop-up dinner at Bar Tartine on Feb. 13th.

Meanwhile in Hibiscus land, the restaurant will probably reopen at the end of the week with a lower-priced "younger" menu geared more towards the adjacent New Parish's club-goers...and families.
