Over the weekend the new carry-out operation from the Sons & Daughters guys, Sweet Woodruff softly opened to the public. The official opening happens tomorrow. This is the first go at a casual, quick-service business from talented, Michelin-starred young chefs Teague Moriarty and Matt McNamara—also the first time you'll be able to have their food at an every day price point. See the opening menu as passed on by Moriarty over the weekend. Bread, condiments and even the "Tapatio" is made in house. Manresa alum Isaac Miller will be the chef on site, ensuring all the Sons & Daughters' standards are met at this level.
The space you see above has changed completely since the Candy Darling days thanks to a steel blue paint job and a reclaimed wood bar area replacing the former candy case. For starters, hours will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, but Moriarty says they definitely plan to expand hours and the menu after the foundation's been firmly established. Visit Sweet Woodruff starting tomorrow and share your thoughts over the EaterWire or in the comments section below.
