PLYWOOD REPORT — Charles Phan is expanding his restaurant empire with the forthcoming SFJAZZ Center (Franklin and Fell Streets), which debuts in January. The name and style of his project has yet to be announced, but it will be open all day and feature cocktails, though probably not as elaborate as what's served at Heaven's Dog, Wo Hing, or Slanted Door. BOOZEWIRE — Espolón Tequila presents Espolón Day of the Dead Pub Crawl, a free event taking place from 8 p.m. to midnight on November 2. Hop on (or, erm, off) the wagon at Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem (2323 Mission) and then move on to Doc's Clock (2575 Mission) and Elbo Room (647 Valencia), with an Espolón special at each. COMING ATTRACTIONS — New York chef/Bay Area expat Jonathan Waxman curates and hosts a four-course Fall Harvest Dinner ($45) at the new Rosa Mexicano (30 Mission), home of the "skinny margaritas," from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on November 7. Purchase tickets at the restaurant's site. [EaterWire]
POP-UPS — Temporary ramen mania is still in full effect. Chef Kyle Itani's Yonsei Ramen Shop sets up inside Oakland's Hopscotch (1915 San Pablo) every Friday night from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. with bowls of meat and vegetarian ramen ($9) beginning November 2. [EaterWire]
