THE MISSION — La Victoria Bakery (2937 24th St.) has plans to become more than an occasional restaurant. Look for the transition from Sunday suppers to a full-time schedule within the next six months. [SFoodie]

Pal's Takeaway is running into a strange new law that is causing the Health Department to ask for a wall to be torn down inside Tony's Market (2751 24th St.). There are hopes that this can be avoided, but in the meantime owner Jeff Mason is interested to find another location to serve as either his second or only spot. [ISSF]

FIDI — The lounge at Quince (470 Pacific), which was remodeled earlier this year, now offers a variety of crudo and sake pairings ($12-15 or $18 for a tasting of three crudo; $18 for sake). Current offerings include hamachi with cayenne, anise hyssop, and Asian pear, served with Dewazakura Oka; and wild king salmon with plum, lotus root, and garlic chive, paired with Tedorigawa Kinka. WINE COUNTRY — Napa Valley is now in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest relay wine toast, which took place on October 7. The St. Helena Kiwanis Club got 487 people to toast at Charles Krug Winery in St. Helena, beating the previous record of 321 set last year in China with an event known as the Napa Valley Wine Wave.
