Laurent Manrique and his partners at Blanc et Rouge wine bar will be opening another wine bar called Aquitaine at 175 Sutter Street. This is the same address where John Walker was ousted by the ABC last year, and Manrique tells Inside Scoop that he will use many of the old materials in the space to create a new decor. It will be a 30-seater specializing in "wines made from grapes whose origin is Aquitaine," serving food that is more than "just cheese and charcuterie." When you're talking to Manrique, this translates to dishes from his hometown of Gascony like cassoulet and duck confit. Aquitiane should open sometime in the beginning of next year.
