TWINKIEGATE — The saga of Hostess is still developing. A court has intervened to order a mediation between the company, which has already announced liquidation, and the unions that represent the employees. [SFoodie]

HOLIDAYS —Baker and Banker (1701 Octavia), nearing its second anniversary, presents a four-course Hanukkah tasting menu ($55 or $90 with wine pairings) based on family recipes, from December 11-16. The dishes (chicken matzoh ball soup, potato latkes with smoked trout and horseradish cream, beef brisket pot au feu, and apple cake) will also be offered à la carte. [EaterWire]

BAR JARS Former 15 Romolo chef Larry Piaskowy has taken his new Bar Jars project online and is now accepting orders from bars who want to add a food program. Piaskowy's first clients include Blackbird (2124 Market), Reed & Greenough, Inner Fog and Barrelroom, all of whom he's outfitted with jars of deviled ham, smoked trout, fava bean hummus, and the like.
