Oakland's Miss Pearl's Restaurant and Lounge (1 Broadway), which was renamed from the beleaguered Miss Pearl's Jam House last year, has been sold. Chef Chris Pastena and the other owners behind Oakland's popular, locally sourced Chop Bar and the forthcoming Tribune Tavern, will take over on January 7.
The prime Jack London Square space was previously Jack's Bistro before becoming the East Bay resurrection of Joey Altman's Miss Pearl's in 2008. It will reemerge on February 7 with a fresh concept and a new name: Lungomare. Pastena has yet to confirm details, but at this point, all signs are pointing to an Italian restaurant.
