POP-UPS — After about a year's hibernation from the local pop-up scene, Top Chef alum Josie Malave is bringing her Global Soul Corner to Thee Parkside (1600 17th St.) for a three-month weekly run starting November 14. The kitchen opens at 2 p.m. with fried chicken sandwiches and more, and there will be a kick-off party next week at 8 p.m. [EaterWire]

FOODLANTHROPY — Both branches of Papalote are pitching in for Sandy relief this weekend. Purchase a jar of the restaurant's salsa in-house (ie. not at their retail partners) on November 11 and 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross. [SFoodie]

EAST BAY — Oakland's Nido (444 Oak) now has dinner service in effect. Also, the adjacent PieTisserie window has fall specials including kabocha squash with a chocolate crust. [Bay Area Bites]

SOMA — Prospect (300 Spear) has added some holiday desserts to the menu. These include pumpkin beignets with pumpkin pie filling and French vanilla ice cream with honey crisp apple butter, spiced ginger cake with poached pear, and a s'mores parfait. [EaterWire]
