THE SHUTTER — Up in Mill Valley, the quick closure of Hawk's Tavern (507 Miller) is a result of "bleeding money," says partner Rick Ronald. It may or may not be able to make a comeback, and this story is still developing. [ISSF]

COMING ATTRACTIONS — SF Chefs continues the Dinner Party Project Series with new collaborations on November 27 ("Maximum Mina," with all of Michael Mina's local restaurants), November 29 (1300 on Fillmore, Farallon/Waterbar, and Zaré at Fly Trap), and December 3 (SPQR and AQ). EAST BAY — Chick-Fil-A nuts camped out at the new Walnut Creek location to win free chicken for a year. Protestors were expected this morning after the enthused were dispersed with coupons in hand. [SFist]
