Nervous Dog Closing, Grand Cafe's Last Misfit

THE SHUTTER — Nervous Dog Coffee (3438 Mission) will close on December 15 after six years of business. Owner Joe Belen cites his declining health and the decline of the block as reasons for closing. [Bernalwood]

COMING ATTRACTIONS — Grand Cafe (501 Geary) hosts the final "Misfit Dinner" of the year from December 20-24. Chef and whole animal specialist Alicia Jenish will highlight à la carte goose dishes ($8-26) such as winter vegetable and goose consomme, goose leg confit served with stuffed savoy cabbage, and goose roulade with prune and caramelized onion pudding.
