Exciting news today for denizens of the Pacific Heights side of Fillmore Street. Albert Rainer has applied for a full liquor license at the former Long Bar & Bistro. For those of you who've never met Mr. Rainer, he's the affable owner of Leopold's, that Austrian gasthaus-style restaurant that is always packed on Polk Street. There's no DBA filed yet for the business, but Fillmore Street should prepare for a big injection of hospitality. Check back for more information on the concept to come to light very soon.

[Update: The concept will be a "neighborhood tavern" inspired by the history of the neighborhood, serving "unfussy" food.]
