Sneak Peek The Menu For Hi-Lo, Opening "Early 2013"

The smoker has been lowered, the build-out nears its end, and Hog & Rocks' barbecue spinoff, Hi-Lo is getting close to it's "early 2013" start date on 19th Street in the Mission. Remember this will be a counter service, meat-by-the-pound affair, with long picnic-like tables filling the dining space. While the owners have avoided stamping a region on their barbecue style, newer executive chef hire Ryan Ostler is ready to call it: "Northern California-style barbeque." Further, it shall be a "lighter, more thoughtful approach to barbeque where respect is given to the ingredients, their provenance, and the people who bring them to the table." Yes, we could talk and talk for ages, but the best way to see what Ostler means is by looking at the opening menu.
