Ryan Farr, of 4505 Meats fame, is opening a full-service butcher shop, 4505 Meats' Butcher Shop, and it will opening just in time for holiday parties, on December 15th! Farr says the store will sell "raw cuts of beef, pork, lamb and chicken, as well as sausages, bones, fat and stock." Customers who need something quick for holiday parties, should check the prepared foods section, brimming with "pork green chili, deli meats, terrines en croute, and smoked hams, stuffed pork roasts, truffled geese," chiccharones, and "an abundance of festive holiday treats." If that's not enough for you: there is smoked meat by the pound.
Farr will have some items that are ready-to-eat immediately too: Dogs with sauerkraut and mustard, the bacon- studded 'Zilla Dog "smothered in chicharrones and Namu kimchee," "the sexy Kink Dog," and more.
Farr and his wife Cesalee have lived a block away from the location for over 10 years, and very much believe in the neighborhood. He notes that they're four blocks from Rainbow Grocery, just around the corner from the 16th street BART station, and a block away from Four Barrel. But that's not all: They're also working on "a larger concept in a different location of the Mission," which they hope will open "next year."
When 4505 Meats Butcher Shop opens, regular hours will be Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Farr will be there daily, living the butcher's dream, "cutting and grinding meat to order," and answering cooking and butchering questions from the community. [Update: Inside Scoop has a picture of the joint's snazzy new neon sign.]
