Justin Simoneaux's $5 Dinner, Levi's Plaza Food Trucks

New, 1 comment

LATE NIGHT - The Boxing Room's Justin Simoneaux will be cooking $5 bowls of spicy tripe with crispy grits at Dobbs Ferry (409 Gought St.) tomorrow night from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. Just so you know, Dobbs does a different $5 "late-night family meal" nightly, but it's usually their in-house chef Michael Yakura cooking it. They've been announcing the day's dish on Facebook. FOOD TRUCKS - Tomorrow Casey's Pizza, Kara's Cupcakes, Kasa Indian, Southern Sandwich Co. (bbq, etc.) and Toasty Melts (grilled cheese) will be parked in Levi's Plaza for your lunch time food truck enjoyment purposes. The property managers are being dodgy about whether it will become a regular thing, so get it while you can. [SFoodie]

NIGHTLIFE - And in today's not-so-surprising news, SoMa is getting another night club theme night. 1015 Folsom is starting a Thursday "Dance San Francisco" series wherein four different rooms are devoted to four different dance styles: Salsa, Bachata, Top 40 and Disco with lessons thrown into the mix. GAS PROBLEMS - The locally based Colombus Salame Company was just fined $7K by the EPA for a toxic gas incident that sickened 17 people in 2009. Apparently, the problematic source—Colombus' refrigeration system—has already been moved to another building, and the company CEO is blaming the whole thing on "a third-party contractor."
