Next Thursday, five young chefs that are very much involved in the future of San Francisco dining, will sit on a panel to talk shop at The Commonwealth Club. Then the following Monday, those very same chefs—Brandon Jew of Bar Agricole, Michael Gaines of Central Kitchen, Brett Cooper of Outerlands, William Werner of Outfit Generic, and Evan Rich of a TBA Hayes Valley restaurant—will collaborate on an elaborate five course fixed price feast at Bar Agricole.
To get a preview of next week's discussion, Eater sat down with all the chefs for an evening pow wow in Bar Agricole's private dining room. After several rounds of drinks, we're fairly certain experimental farmers, local chef camaraderie, the next generation of cooks, and a new chapter in San Francisco's local modernist cuisine will be some of the hot topics on the discussion table. There's much more, but we wouldn't want to spoil anything.
That said, chef Jew did pass on a teaser look at the menu to be offered on Monday the 20th. Take a look after the hop, and if this whole panel-and-a-meal deal sounds fun to you, buy your tickets here. Note you can also purchase tickets to the panel alone by clicking this link, and to the dinner alone, right here.
