Roam Artisan Burgers Signs Fillmore Street Lease

New, 3 comments

Last week news leaked that there's a very good chance Union Street's popular organic burger restaurant Roam will be going into the old Osaka space on Fillmore Street. Today, owner Josh Spiegelman calls in to say he's signed the lease, and the deal is done. Anthony Fish and Arcanum—who did not design the original —will begin an extensive overhaul of the former sushi joint to recreate the right "urban rustic" feel. Spiegelman says there will be roughly 50 seats here, with eventual outdoor heated seating too. The menu offerings will be similar to Union Street's: with beer, kombucha and Straus soft serve on tap, although Spiegelman says they may do some different salads here and experiment with new meat options for the burgers, "like venison." The hope is to open up around the middle of June. It should be noted that Johnny Rockets (1946 Fillmore St.) is right across the street, but Spiegelman is unfazed: "we're doing something different from them."
