Mission Public SF (1910 Mission St.) is a new, neighborhood gastropub planning to take over the former Salon Mirabelle on 15th and Mission. Mission Loc@l catches up with the owner Anthony Shuton, a graphic artist who was dying to get out of the cubicle, so he decided to open a pub. He hopes to create a casual atmosphere that's "welcoming to everyone, not just hipsters." It'll serve California beers and small plates. First things first: Shulton needs to get the Planning Commission to approve his change of use to a full-service restaurant. The hopeful ETA is this Spring.
