An attempt to protect the California school lunch program, AB 1678 is a new bill that would ban food trucks from parking within 1500 feet (roughly seven city blocks) of any school. Supervisor Scott Wiener calls the law "terrible" because it would basically prevent the whole city from having food trucks, and he's working on an exemption for San Francisco. Wiener adds, "To assume that all food trucks are junk food is inaccurate.” [SFoodie, Mission Loc@l]
