The Mission's new crudo and seafood restaurant Lot 7—which earlier reports said would be something like Bar Crudo—soft opened yesterday. Further details on the space come in from the Thrillist boys, who wax on about an open kitchen, above-decent-sounding beer selection, a 10-seat red elm bar and a nautical feel. Daily Candy adds some juice about 20's-era San Francisco photo memorabilia on the walls, Asian-seeming salvaged lanterns, and food with all kinds of influences: from Spain to Egypt and back to America. So, everyone should be happy?
The chef—in case you were wondering—is Greg Lutes of Skates on the Bay fame. He worked at Waterfront before that, so he probably knows his way around an oyster. Speaking of: owner Hani Desoukey says he'll start up the daily dollar oyster happy hour on this fortuitously sunny Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. So check that out and give Eater lots of juicy feedback over the tip line, or below.
