Today Sarah and Evan Rich reveal the name of their impending Hayes Valley restaurant: Rich Table. Ironically, they've come out with a Kickstarter campaign at the same time: shooting for $15K to help recreate the Paul K. space. The fund-raising page details the Rich Table vision:
"By eliminating the extraneous elements of fine-dining restaurants...[Rich Table offers] the same fine-dining cuisine but in a casual, convivial atmosphere...a place with no dress code...without the pretentiousness of a high-end restaurant...Guests will be encouraged to share dishes...from raw items such as oysters and crudos, to pastas and meat dishes...The menu will change daily, and inspiration will come from a number of cuisines all based on the combined experience of the chefs, including but not limited to Japanese, Italian, French."
Bonus option: “Chefs? Choice” tasting menus, sort of like a Japanese omakase, available at several price points. Help Rich Table get off the ground by chipping in on this here funding page. Note Paul K. will remain open until the liquor license transfers.
