While some restaurants' wine lists are shrinking, one in particular has grown. Press, in St. Helena, has increased its wine selection and remodeled its cellar. The new wine room, which was designed by Howard Backen, now houses the most Napa Valley wines anywhere including vintages that date all the way back to the 1960s. The good news? The wines are priced at far less than the standard restaurant mark-up. “We want people to actively experience these wines,” explains sommelier Scott Brenner, “not just look at them as intangible artifacts.” [Eaterwire]
