UNION SQUARE — Claudine (8 Claude Ln.) begins serving dinner on Saturdays beginning April 14 at 5:30 PM, so shoppers can now soak up their purchases with seafood salads. The restaurant will remain closed on Sundays. [EaterWire]

EAST BAY — The first Walnut Creek Restaurant Week is scheduled for April 16-22. The eternal debate of the value of such promotions remains, but this one at least looks fairly affordable, with prix-fixe lunches for $10 and dinners for $20 being served at more than 30 eateries. [EaterWire]

CHEF SHUFFLES — Presidio Social Club (563 Ruger) has named a new executive chef in Wes Shaw, who is working with owner and founding chef Ray Tang on a new menu. Shaw's Texas roots show up in new entrees such as brisket but there's also apparently some effort underway to add lighter fare as well. [EaterWire]

POP-UPS — Almanac Beer, Reform Club, and chef Eric Ehler of Seoul Patch join forces on April 15 for dinner at Specchio (2331 Mission). The four-course meal is $40 ($25 beverage pairing) features warm lettuce salad with sisig, mussels in ramen broth, slow roasted pork shoulder, and a beer ice cream sundae. Reservations are taken over this way. [EaterWire]
