Marbella Brings Paella and Tapas to Polk Street Tonight

Lots of restaurant opening action on Polk Street tonight as Marbella is released to the masses at 5:30 p.m. for dinner service— serving paella, tapas and lots of raciones like shrimp tortillitas and grass fed lamb meatballs. Consider the above your preview of ARC Design's major overhaul of the old Rex Cafe space. A huge Michael Brennan-designed "Espana" mural inside, some grafitti-like art on the street-facing side of the building, chandeliers, and deep-red walls make the space feel like much more of a dinner spot than the brunch mecca it was known as before. The rest of the back story on the chef and the Marbella menus were teased earlier. According to GrubStreet, there's an exciting new cocktail program too. Now as always, early thoughts on this sultry Spanish vixen should be shared freely in the comments section or over in the tip jar .
