Almost a year after David Tanis retired from his position as chef at Chez Panisse, the restaurant's other long-term chef Jean-Pierre Moullé has announced he's stepping down. His replacement will be Cal Peternell, who's helmed the cafe upstairs since 2009. As reported earlier, Jerome Waag will also serve as Chez Panisse chef for half of the year. Inside Scoop has a flowery Alice Waters quote to accompany the news, saying that Jean-Pierre will of course "remain a vital member of the Famille Panisse," and he'll still come back to cook from time to time.
