1) Marina: La Barca's ABC license transferred over to its new owners, but Tod Alsman and co. are still working out the name and interviewing "a few great chef candidates." Designer Gi Paoletti has drawn a way-enlarged bar into the preliminary design sketches, and Alsman says they've narrowed the idea to a bar-centric American tavern. 3) Union Square : In the Westfield, La Boulange du Dome will open later this spring and M.Y. China by Martin Yan (formerly Noodle Revolution) is slated to open in late summer. 5) Oakland : EBX has more on Paul Canales' big in-the-works project in the former Art Deco Oakland Floral Depot. With Culver City's Royal/T as its model, the new concept will include an on-site wine shop, pop-up artisan merchant shops, an art gallery, a "music mezzanine", and an accessible Italian menu that's less expensive than that at Canales' alma mater, Oliveto's.
