MID-MARKET: The new SF FoodLab pop-up venue under the Renoir Hotel (1106 Market St.) will host cult-followed Puerto Rican restaurant Sol Food for lunch starting tomorrow and through next week (calendar here). Matt Cohen tells Eater they're courting other prospective pop-up vendors at a "private industry thing" tonight, and a separate dinner pop-up might begin very soon as well. Tablehopper has more on the imminent menu. [EaterWire, Tablehopper, Facebook via GrubStreet]

THE MISSION - Southpaw BBQ now has former Epic Roasthouse chef and Emeril protege Max Hussey running the kitchen, so you can expect some changes to their Southern food menu. TCB Bike Couriers will also fuel their new lunch take-out and delivery service to start next week, and Sunday brunch will kick off on June 3. [ISSF]

FOOD TRUCKS - Continuing Off the Grid's march toward world domination, they'll be starting up an Alameda operation on Saturdays starting on June 2. [EBX]

CRIME - Remember that 2010 shooting at Suede in North Beach? The gunman was just found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. [SF Appeal]

SOMA - Zare at Fly Trap is offering a $45 four-course menu of Persian-inspired British pub grub tonight and tomorrow night. What the heck does that mean? How about split pea soup with braised pheasant and pomegranate hot wings and a treacle tart with sesame, pistachio, date molasses. Call for reservations. [EaterWire]
