Could an enjoyable poolside brunch really be a possibility in San Francisco? Maybe. Chambers Eat + Drink at the Phoenix Hotel has just announced a new heated, roll-down patio enclosure that shields you from the wind and cold while still allowing a solid look at their mostly un-touched pool. Starting this weekend, you'll be able to sit there and eat a new brunch menu by chef Trevor Ogden.
Spiced challah French toast, soft scrambled eggs with artichoke hearts, fava beans, fromage blanc and piquillo peppers; "egg in a hole," and pork belly hash with soft boiled eggs, smoked grits, summer squash and pork "candy" are among the dishes teased. The bar is adding some day time poolish drinks too: like a spa Collins, a coupe made with Earl Grey-infused gin, and a bloody Mary with your choice of vodka, tequila or gin and house-made sambal added to the mix. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Try it out and drop a line in the tip jar with your reports.
