Michael Bauer revisits Florio (1915 Fillmore) for the first time in six years and files an update. He still really enjoys being in the "comfortable and reliable" Pacific Heights space; he thinks there's something special about the room. Despite finding the fish "soggy" and the sweetbreads "disappointing," he maintains the restaurant's 2.5 stars. [Chron]
Grub Street editor Jay Barmann takes a turn at the currently vacant review spot over at SF Weekly to drop some stoner jokes about Namu Gaji (499 Dolores). He seems pleased with the food (and is surprised that one of his favorites is made of tofu rather than meat) and thinks it has weathered the move from the Richmond to the Mission with grace. But his meals there have been more successful when he's set the pacing rather than the restaurant. [SFW]
Virginia Miller crosses two bridges in order to share her favorite cocktails of the minute. She's enjoying getting intoxicated on adult milkshakes and creations with names like Jack Satan at Comal, Copita, Grand Cafe, and Absinthe. [SFBG]
THE ELSEWHERE — : The Merc takes a field trip to SF's Incanto, Marin IJ feasts on Persian barbecue at Kababbq, and EBX enjoys fake meat at Nature Vegetarian Restaurant.
