THE MISSION —It's largely known for sake, but Nombe hosts its first Japanese beer garden of the summer with snacks like hand-rolled sushi and grilled Kurobuta pork belly from 5-9 p.m. on June 29 at Wix Lounge (2601 Mission). A portion of proceeds will be donated to La Cocina. [EaterWire]

EAST BAY DISPATCH — North Oakland has a new Saturday farmers market courtesy of the food justice organization Phat Beets Produce. There are four small farms offering their wares as well as a commercial kitchen that will be used as an incubator for new indie businesses. [EBX]

WINE COUNTRY — Chef Liza Shaw is helping to create the menu for Pizzando, set to debut in the Hotel Healdsburg in August. She was last seen locally at A16 before taking some time to travel. [Tablehopper]

NOE VALLEY — Straight out of Rome, guest chef Roberto Nasseri takes over Bacco (737 Diamond) for a four-course dinner ($65/$80 wine pairings) featuring squid ink raviolo and braised veal cheek on June 26. Call 282-4969 or reservations as OpenTable won't work for this occasion. [EaterWire]
