UNION SQUARE — Jasper's Corner Tap (401 Taylor) marks its first birthday with a reprise of its bestselling items incorporated into a three-course dinner menu with three cocktail pairings ($44) available from July 19-21. That doesn't include the recent Eater exclusive dish, but it does feature such items as duck leg confit and a Negroni on tap. [EaterWire]

FOIE COUNTDOWN — Chowhounders are getting down to the foie gras nitty gritty, and their tips can help figure out what places to avoid for the next few weeks, either for crowds or for bad liver. Nombe's foie ramen, for example, hasn't fared well on this board, while Fifth Floor's tasting menu has been deemed a fitting send-off. [Chowhound]

NORTH BEACH — Impress-for-less, coupon-clipping impresario Broke Ass Stuart mans the bar at Bottle Cap (1707 Powell) tonight from 6-8 p.m. Drink $5 "Dark, Broke & Stormy" cocktails and tip him generously, for those proceeds will go to Project Open Hand. [EaterWire]

CHEF'S CHOICE — Melissa Chou, pastry chef from Aziza (5800 Geary), offers her picks for essentials like carbs and sweets in the city. Among her favorites: Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous ice cream, Izakaya Sozai ramen, and brunch at Plow. [7X7]
