The 4th Annual SF Chefs food/drink/chef barrage is approaching quickly (July 30-Aug. 5), and this year Eater readers get to be involved more than ever before. That's right, in addition to the enormous grand tasting tent to take Union Square all weekend, Eater is co-sponsoring the Chef Challenge to end all chef challenges, and we're reaching out to Eater readers to help decide who competes.
Here's how it works: four teams of two San Francisco chefs will battle it out in a race to make the best dishes from a mystery basket of ingredients. San Francisco Chronicle's Miriam Morgan, Food & Wine's Gina Hamadey, Delfina's Craig Stoll, and Jonathan Kauffman of Tasting Table will join Eater in the judges circle to decide who wins round 1, round 2, and a final challenge.
Now, the fun part: Eater readers can send their nominations for one or more local chefs who they'd like to see compete to contests@eater.com by Monday, July 2. We'll divide the chefs into four teams of two. Every reader who sends in a nomination will be entered to win two tickets to the final faceoff on Sunday August 5th or two tickets to the Sunday Grand Tasting Tent. Now you've just got to decide who you'd like to see sweating it out on stage. Rock the vote.
