1.) Metreon: Workers of downtown take note: Freshroll Vietnamese Rolls & Bowls, one of the new restaurants at the revamped Metreon building, is now fulfilling our spring roll, rice bowl, and banh mi needs. Created by new comer Nam Hoang, the menu concept is similar to U-Sushi with diners customizing their own rolls by choosing a protein, produce, herbs, and dipping sauce. 157 4th Street; 415-348-1858. 2.) Market Street: Gayle Pirie and John Clark have taken over the space next door to Show Dogs and opened Machine Coffee and Deli. The sandwich side of the business isn't due until later this summer, but for now, you can enjoy an assortment of coffee drinks. 1024 Market Street; 415 -592-8440. [ISSF]
3.) Hayes Valley: The explosion of growth continues in Hayes Valley with DragonEats, a Vietnamese street food restaurant that opened yesterday next door to the Hayes Valley Bakeworks. 520 Gough Street; 415-795-1469. [Hayeswire]
4.) Union Square: Although the space inside Macy's is unusually small, Pinkberry has finally come to San Francisco. Due to its size, the store is a little different from larger, free-standing Pinkberries. Still, it's serving the same frozen yogurt that started the craze a couple years back. 170 O’Farrell Street; 415-391-1529. [Eaterwire]
