You voted, we deliberated, and now Eater and SF Chefs are ready to reveal the chef players in this year's Chef Challenge to take place during the 4th annual SF Chefs. Four very talented teams of two will battle it out in a friendly competition using one mystery ingredient and a market basket donated by CUESA. Limited tickets are available for all battles, so be sure to grab a seat to see your favorite chefs on stage. Without further ado, the teams:
Round 1 Challenge, Friday August 3 (tickets here)
Team #1: David Bazirgan of Fifth Floor and Mark Dommen of One Market
Team #2: Anthony Strong of Locanda and Omri Aflalo of Bourbon Steak
Round 2 Challenge, Saturday, August 4th (tickets here)
Team #1: Hoss Zare of Zare at Fly Trap and Jen Biesty of Scala’s Bistro
Team #2: Brandon Jew of Bar Agricole and Staffan Terje of Perbacco
Final Faceoff, Sunday, August 5th (tickets here)
The winning teams from Round 1 and Round 2 will faceoff in another battle with a new mystery ingredient to decide who will take home two sets of Analon cookware and a $5,000 culinary scholarship created in their name, courtesy of the Golden Gate Restaurant Association Scholarship Fund.
Those of you who sent in nominations for the teams will be entered in a raffle to win two tickets to the final faceoff on Sunday August 5th or two tickets to the Sunday Grand Tasting Tent. Winners will be notified at the end of July.
