POP-UPS — Dear Mom (2700 16th St.) plays host to four pop-ups this weekend; the bar has quickly become a centerpiece of the pop-up scene in the nine months it's been open. Seoul Patch is cooking up dinner tonight (July 20), Hella Vegan Eats does cruelty-free dinner tomorrow (July 21), and Whiskey Commons serves on Sunday night (July 22). Ronin Pop-Up slides in for brunch on July 21. More info here. [EaterWire]

BEER, TRENDY — It's not too early to start training for the Beer Olympics at Fort Mason, which goes from 2-6 p.m. on July 28. Get sudsed with national and local brews including 21st Amendment and Speakeasy and bites from trucks like TomKat, Hapa SF, and Sift Cupcakes. Tickets are $40-50 and can be purchased here (beware Olympics theme song on autoplay). [EaterWire]

CIVIC CENTER — SFJAZZ (205 Franklin) is building a $55 million facility due to open in January 2013. Among the ambitious plans are a cafe and bar that will feature live music. [SF Weekly]

ADVICEWIRE — T.J. Jacobberger, the general manager and partner of the Tavern at Lark Creek, suggests that prospective restaurant workers should scan their social networks and consider that their Facebook shots of doing jello shots might be harmful to one's chances. A solidly written resume does not hurt, either. [ISSF]
