1) The Mission: Barricade walls are down at Farina Pizza, and the opening is being pushed back to early August, when chairs should arrive at the space. Owner Luca Minna sends a few new details from abroad: they'll open at 7 a.m. for Italian pastries and espresso; pizzas will be baked in an old Italian brick oven using San Marzano tomatoes and foir di latte mozzarella; chef Paolo Laboa will create a menu of appetizers, fried and marinated bites, grilled and stewed meats, while debuting his Farinata, a Genovese garbanzo bean flatbread.
