CHEF SHUFFLES — Armando Justo is leaving the grill at Marina izakaya Chotto (3317 Steiner) to head up the Japanese cafe at Google. A replacement has yet to be appointed but don't expect any drastic menu changes at Chotto, which is hopefully good news for fans of bacon-wrapped mochi. [ISSF]
POP-UPS — After a feature story on weekend brunch pop-up Rogue Cafe (3204 Ellis) raised community questions as to its legality, the pop-up has now become a private event to appease the health department. The Facebook page will be updated with future seatings. [Berkeleyside]
COMING ATTRACTIONS — The next New Taste Marketplace is from 2-7 p.m. on July 28 at St. Gregory's Episcopal Church (500 DeHaro). It looks to be on a pretty epic scale, with 20 chefs offering lunch, dinner, and take-home snacks. [EaterWire]
DOUGHNUT WIRE — Seattle doughnut favorite Top Pot Doughnuts is drafting a national franchise plan that will include locations in San Francisco. This is big news for maple bar lovers as well as rainbow sprinkle enthusiasts. [Eater NY]
