THE SHUTTER — Today (July 31) marks the last day of business for medical marijuana dispensaries Hopenet (223 Ninth St.) and Vapor Room (607A Haight), the latter the purveyor of the most extensive selection of handmade edibles in the city. Both were forced to close under a federal crackdown. There will be a public farewell party celebrating the Vapor Room beginning tonight at 10 p.m. at Otis Lounge (25 Maiden Lane). [SF Weekly]

THE EMBARCADERO — Epic Roasthouse (369 The Embarcadero) begins selective lunch service on August 8, the first time since cutting it three years ago. Hours will be 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, and there's a newly installed outdoor canopy to make outdoor dining a more frequently reasonable possibility. [EaterWire]

FOOD TRUCKS — Fresh off its SF court victory, Off The Grid's newest market will take place Monday evenings in Hayward. OTG: Hayward soft launches on August 6 at Five Corners Park (Mission Boulevard and D Street) with trucks such as Sanguchon, Curry Up Now, and Cheese Gone Wild. [EaterWire]

WINE COUNTRY — Sonoma's Cafe 522 (522 Broadway) has shuttered; it's not a good week in that department for the town. Taking its place with a hopeful soft opening in late August will be a contemporary American eatery from former Odyssey chef Rudy Bihal, but there's no name for it as of yet. [BiteClub Eats]
