PACIFIC HEIGHTS — Baker and Banker (1701 Octavia) have added to the busy pace of the restaurant with a chef's table set up inside the adjoining bakery. There are full views of the kitchen so diners can see the preparations of everything from à la carte dishes to the eight-course surprise tasting menu. [EaterWire]

REVAMPS — Santa Rosa's Petite Syrah restaurant is morphing into Three Squares (205 Fifth St.). Chef Josh Silvers, who may appear on the next season of Food Network's Chopped, takes the new name from the serving of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and "wholesome comfort food" is his pitch. [ISSF]

RIP — Sending condolences out to the family of Fessehaye "Fish" Mebrahtu, the owner of Oakland's Oasis Club (135 12th St.). The champion of the local reggae scene passed away at age 54 of undisclosed causes. [EBX}

LISTICLE MADNESS — Travel + Leisure weighs in on its 20 favorite Italian restaurants in the country, and two San Francisco spots are on the list. Drum roll, please. . . honors go to Flour + Water and Acquerello. [Eater National]
