WINE COUNTRY — Napa's Bennett Lane Winery (3340 Hwy. 128) offers a wine tasting package that includes brunch at The Grill at Meadowood (yes, this Meadowood), a hot air balloon ride, and a picnic lunch. It'll set a couple back a mere $1999. [Thrillist]

FOOD TRUCKS — It started serving beer and wine about three months ago, and now SoMa StrEat Food Park (428 11th St.) is getting a dedicated brew truck soon. For the moment, the late night hours on weekends are on hold until a proper permit is secured. [Zagat]

SWITCHEROOS — After a year in business, Cindy Pawlcyn's St. Helena restaurant Brassica (641 Main) is going to re-concept as an American bar and grill, though there won't be a major makeover of the interior. Cindy Pawlcyn's Wood Grill & Wine Bar, to be precise, and she hopes it'll be a more "everyday destination." [ISSF]

EAST BAY — It was previously revealed that Charlie Hallowell's next project will be a bar and grill and full service butcher rather than a pizzeria like his Boot and Shoe Service. Turns out, it'll be called Penrose & Company Fine Meats & Spirits (3307 Grand Avenue), which he's describing as a "bar with food." Construction begins soon. [Diablo]
